Data Residency

Data Residency refers to the obligation that certain data is stored and processed within a defined geographic area (e.g. EU, Germany, Switzerland). Microsoft addresses this with Azure regions (Germany West Central, Germany North, Switzerland North/West, Austria East from 2026) and EU Data Boundary for Microsoft 365.
